1792	Founded in Osaka’s Shinsaibashi district as a brush-and-ink merchant under the name Imazuya, by Kohachirō Fukui.
1881	Began handling imported stationery from Europe and the U.S.
1887	Added drafting instruments to the lineup.
1895–1897	Registered the Lion trademark and issued the first product catalog.
1921	Incorporated as Fukui Shoten Co., Ltd.
1929–1934	Released a rotary type Lion Pencil Sharpener, launched the multi hole "Donko " ledger binder, and introduced the numbering machine.
1935–1937	Opened a research lab; began manufacturing steel pen nibs.
1948	Added Sigma ballpoint pens to the portfolio.
1950	Introduced Punch No.10.
1966–1968	Released Stapler L 33 and the Lion Jet Pen P 50.
1972	Established LION OFFICE PRODUCTS, INC. in California;
1980	Renamed to LION Office Products Co., Ltd.
1988	Opened the Ōtone distribution center in Saitama for East Japan.
1991–1992	Opened a Presentation Center in Nakano, Tokyo; celebrated the 200th anniversary.
1998–1999	&Earned ISO 9001 certification; established a Taiwan subsidiary and a Shanghai subsidiary.
2000–2001	Gained ISO 14001 certification; moved HQ from Osaka to Higashi Nakano, Tokyo.
2008–2009	Formed a capital and business alliance with Otsuka Shōkai; started the B2B mail order service NAVILION.
2013–2014	Karu Hotchi stapler and Macaron Design Clip won major stationery awards; opened the HQ showroom WORK PALETTE.
2019:	group company Sunlitec acquired a shredder business.
2020–2023	Launched the Hani sack finger cot (award winning); marked the 100th anniversary of incorporation (2021) and 230th founding (2022); donated stationery to schools in Kenya & Uganda.
2025	Newly listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange Standard Market.
